grinning from ear to ear!
I just have to post about my huge accomplishment today. I woke up early and decided to go for a 5 mile run/walk. I did my warm up of 1/2 a mile, then I started running, and just kept running. I felt so good. I ran my first mile in 11:12, my fastest time since I started this whole weight-loss thing. I was way pumped about that. Then I walked for half a mile, then started running again. And I just kept running. I ended up doing 6 1/2 miles and only walked about 2 miles of that. I was literally shocked out of my mind. When did I get strong enough to run that much? I have no idea, but it feels so good!!!!!!!! It makes me want to get up early tomorrow morning and see how far I can go without walking. I'm getting closer to my 5K dream!!!!!!!

Adding some cardio to my everyday....
I've decided that maybe instead of killing myself with the diet thing, that maybe I should add some more cardio to my workouts. So I've started a few things. On Monday's, Wednesday's, and Fridays I bike to Crossfit....roughly 10 miles.....takes me about 35 minutes. (I need to clock it today and find out the real distance.) Then Tuesday's, Thursday's, and Saturday's I'm doing interval run training after Crossfit. I feel grand!!!! I'm so glad I'm stepping up my cardio. I'm still following a diet and counting calories but it's nice to know that I have a little wiggle room to enjoy life!!!!!! My hubby's upset that I eat cheese, fruits, and grains in front of him, he's on a strict lean meats and veggies diet....hahaha.....but I have noticed a huge difference in my attitude when I don't have to restrict everything from my diet! Happy workouts today!!

Sample dinner....
This is proof you don't need bread to eat a delicious burger! It helps that my hubby makes a to die for patty, then wrap it in lettuce, smother it in salsa, tomato, guacamole, and mustard and you've got yourself a healthy burger! Asparagus and carrots are among our favorite sides!!!!

There's going to be a Crossfit right by me!!!!
Okay guys, I am soooo excited. I will no longer have to drive 15 minutes to get to Crossfit. The owner is opening up a new Crossfit.......called UAC South!!!! The address is 880 South Main Street Suite 270 in Logan! Right next to Firehouse Pizza! That's about 30 seconds away from my home!!!!! If you've never been to Crossfit you've got to check it out! My life has been forever changed because of it! In face, let me tell you a few milestones that happened just today.......
When I first started Crossfit, I had to use 2 green bands to do a pullup. Then I moved up to a black band, then I moved up to 1 green band, and just today, I moved up to a blue band!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have no idea how excited I am!!!!! I've only been going for 10 months!!!!
Then, after the workout today, I checked my body fat.......a week and 2 days ago I was at 35.9% body fat, today I was at 33.8%!!!!!!
Then, if you can't handle even more excitement, today after the workout, I actually did 6 double unders in a row!!!!!!! (A double under is swinging the jumprope twice for every 1 jump) I have been trying for 10 months to get a double under and it's finally starting to click!!!
If this isn't enough to get you excited for yourself, just give me a call. You can come try it out free for 3 days and if it isn't for you then that's okay, but I promise you'll be hooked!!!
Oh, and if you'd like to check out the website here it is....

cheat day....shmeat day.
yep, you heard that right.....today's cheat day stunk. I have felt like crap all day long. Not sick....just feeling yucky from all the junk I'm eating, and I didn't even eat that much junk. I had a couple cookies tonight, which were way too sweet. I'm guessing this is a good thing. Feeling this way. Looking forward to eating good tomorrow.
Saturday weigh-in.....
Weighed-in this morning.....
167 lbs
Not bad, making progress....
Today is my cheat day! I'm thoroughly enjoying it! You know what, I haven't really stuffed myself like I thought I would. Weird huh? in fact, I find myself still wanting to eat the healthy food. Yes, I'm going to indulge in sweets today.....so we'll see how I feel after that.

it's a new day, it's a new day, it's a new day....
I've kind of been feeling like Chicken Little these past few days. See, our family went on a week long vacation to Disneyland this past week and I ate like crap....seriously, I didn't even think about what I put in my mouth, and it was heavenly. Then we got home and I got on the scale and literally gasped. I gained 10 pounds while on vacay. Yikes!!!! That was Monday....I weighed in at 177. Tuesday morning I started back at Crossfit.....it's Thursday today and I'm back to 168. Yes, I know my last official weigh-in (over there on the sidebar) was 161. Yes, I gained a few pounds since the closing of the biggest loser.....and yes, I'm frustrated with myself.......but I keep telling myself, every morning, today is a new day, today is a new day.......
My hubby and I are doing this weight-loss and fat-loss thing together this summer. We are both following the Paleo diet. He's following it very strictly, with no fruit because he wants to lose fat faster. I'm following it and allowing myself 2-3 fruit servings per day. At first we thought getting in all our protein would be tough but it's been so easy. Let me give you a quick run-down on a day's eating for me:
*Crossfit
*16 oz. of chocolate protein shake (46 grams of protein) I just take my protein shake to crossfit with me, keep it in the fridge, and drink it after my workout.
*Breakfast-one egg (6 grams of protein), 3 slices of turkey bacon (9 grams of protein), almonds or almond butter (6 grams of protein)
Update: so before lunch, I've already had 67 grams of protein.....I need to have 113 grams of protein a day.
Let's continue.....
*Lunch-I usually eat some chicken (30 grams of protein) with veggies or a salad.
*snack-1/2 apple with carrots and hummus and a handful of almonds OR a Larabar (have you tried these yet? They are delicious and a perfect snack to throw in your purse when you're on the go. My 3 year old loves them!) Larabar's are basically a fruit and nut bar....anywhere from 4-6 grams of protein in one bar.
*Dinner-2 grilled fish (46 grams of protein), OR chicken (30 grams of protein) OR grilled turkey (26 grams of protein), with a salad and lots of veggies
Update: so by the end of dinner I've had 127-146 grams of protein.
The hardest part of my day is between lunch and dinner, and I always get the munchies around 8:00 p.m. But my hubby and I decided to stop our eating by 8:00, so I just get a 5 calorie stick of gum (our newest flavors here at home are watermelon and green apple) and that stick of gum satisfies my sweet craving until I turn in for the night around 9:30 or 10:00.
The best part of this diet is you get a cheat day.......our day is Saturday, which means 2 more days and we get to cheat. So far, I feel wonderful, have energy (I would probably have more energy if I would get more sleep....hahahahaha), and I'm doing pretty good at crossfit :)
So, now that you know my life story, what are some of the things all of you are doing to get back on track?????
