It's that time again.....and honestly, I was dreading this weigh day all week. I was just not feeling the healthy eating thing. Sometimes I have weeks like that, don't you????? Some weeks I just can't get enough sweets (terrible for me I know). But ya know, sometimes you just have to get it out of your system (the splurging I mean) and turn your focuses on a new week. That's what I did.
So, when I stepped on the scale this morning (after my last chance crossfit workout and after mowing the lawn) I was more than surprised to see that the number had actually dropped from last week.
What??????????
I have no idea what I did to deserve that but it made my day nonetheless.
Previous weight: 167.6
Current weight: 166.8
I'll take that. Even if it is less than a pound. I thought for sure that I had gained 3 pounds.
(And in case you were wondering......that little weight loss challenge I'm having with my hubby.....I beat him again.....shhhhhhh)

sled pushes and new weight loss challenge
Friday weigh-day June 15th: 170.4 lbs
My hubby, who is currently deployed, and I are engaging in a cutthroat friendly weight-loss competition! I know that I can beat him! I lost my momentum about 3 weeks ago and I've been sailing along not worrying about what I'm eating, (and just to be clear, I think every diet needs that), but I also think that life shouldn't be a diet, it should be a healthy eating lifestyle, so that's what I'm trying to transition into. I'm trying to distinguish between my body telling me it's hungry and my body telling me it really is hungry!
So there's really nothing special about how I'm losing weight, just the basics:
*drink lots of water
*eat an abundance of fruits and veggies
*eat lean meats (ground turkey, chicken, fish)
*I even get a popcycle every now and then!
*limited cheese and dairy (no milk; I use almond milk) I've almost completely switched my family over to almond milk because my kids have been showing signs of allergies to dairy.
*very limited breads and pastas (I only myself a heavenly slice of whole grain bread every now and then)
And my workouts are just as fun as ever!!!!!! I absolutely love Crossfit and if it wasn't for my amazing friend, Debbie, introducing me to it almost 2 1/2 years ago, I don't know where I would be today. It has transformed my way of working out and my outlook on fitness!
My kids always accompany me to my class and just the other day they got to participate in our sled pushes! It was a blast and the kids thought so too:
