Sugar addiction...a confession
You'll notice I changed the title of this blog......it's true......I'm a SUGARholic. I read something a few days ago by Tony Horton (P90X guru) something to the effect of;
If you can't stop thinking about something, like sugar, alcohol, etc., then that's a pretty good chance you're addicted and you need to change your ways.
Wow.....he put alcohol in the same sentence as sugar....scary. I've been thinking about this for a while. In fact, here's a true story:
I ate a very healthy lunch today, grilled BBQ chicken with salad. Well, when I got done I just wanted to Hoover cookies, and hoover I did. I ate 4 no-bake cookies. Why? Why did I do that? I know why.....I'm addicted to sugar. It's sad really. I can't seem to go a day without sugar. So I guess the only way to become unaddicted to something is slow and steady. I'll start out with only 1 sweet a day, then I'll go to 1 sweet every other day and so on.
You're going down sugar.....down.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Okay, now that I've gotten that scream out.......
I came across a quote just a few minutes ago and it really hit home. Here it is:
I came across a quote just a few minutes ago and it really hit home. Here it is:
"Act in ways that are compatible with the person you want to be."
So, basically, I have not been living my life or acting in ways that are compatible with the person I want to be. The biggest area that I am talking about is my eating habits. Inside, the person I want to be is a health fanatic. I really want to show my family how important it is to feed our bodies the right fuel. I don't want them to grow up thinking that soda at dinner is good for you, that candy as a reward is the only option, and I could go on and on.
The other area that is not compatible with the person I want to be is my outgoingness. (Is that even a word?) I want to be an energetic, spur of the moment, outgoing, happy, caring, smiling mother, friend, and wife.
So, while I am still struggling with perfecting my diet, I am going to add these two areas in my life to work on. My eating and my outgoingness!
.......P.S. my weight-loss goal for next Friday is 3 pounds!

Sweatin' like crazy.
What a workout this morning! I went to crossfit at 5:30 this morning and did 150 lunges, 150 sumo deadlift high-pulls, and 150 box jumps. Then I went to the clubhouse and speed walked 2 miles. My shirt is soaked and I stink, but I love to sweat. Now I just need to stay on my diet all day.

I'm baaaaacccckkkkk!!!!!
After taking 3 weeks off of my diet (which was glorious by the way!), I'm back at it again. I kind of have mixed feelings about this. I did really well maintaining my weight over the past 3 weeks, and it was so nice to enjoy eating with my family and enjoying a lot of desserts ;), but for the past week I've been feeling the urgency to get back on track. I still have an ultimate goal in mind, (130 pounds), and that goal is never going to be reached if I keep putting it off. I have 3 weeks until my family reunion and my goal is to be at 158. I'm also making a new goal to run at least 3 times a week, in addition to Crossfit every morning of course.
I still haven't decided what my reward will be for reaching my goal at the end of these next 3 weeks, but I'm determined to make it a good one to motivate me.
So, all you reading this blog, (are there any of you out there?) let's get back on track and reach our goals together!

Moving is NOT good for weight loss.
I've been super busy packing up my house for the past week. Today is moving day! I'll be back at it when we get all settled in our new place. For now, it's just too hard to diet and have a million other things on my mind. The good thing is that I'm getting awesome workouts with this move. Up and down stairs a zillion times and lifting heavy things!
