Who would've thought.....
Who would've thought that surgery would make me gain weight instead of lose! I mean, I didn't eat for 3 days, only ice chips, and then for 2 days after that, it was strictly clear liquids and bland foods! Anyway, just had to share my frustrations.....

Yippeeeeeeeeee......
Since my last post, almost 6 months ago, I've made considerable progress, slow, but considerable none-the-less! I'm now down to 196! And my goal was to get below 200, I did it! I'm aware that it is taking me a long time to lose even a little weight, but all I care about is that I'm losing and not gaining! It feels so good to take control of my life and working towards getting a healthier me! If you'd like, you can track my journey in working up to running a 5K! I won't be running competitively or anything, but I'd like to prove to myself that I can do it, and I really want to get back into running! Believe it or not, I used to be a pretty good runner in college! So far, I'm on day 2 of my first week of training and I'm battling back pain, and horrible shin splints, I mean very painful! Jamen said that he felt the same way when he was getting back into shape, so I just need to make it past these next few weeks and get my body past the shock of exercise!

Back on track.....
Wow, I haven't posted forever! Here it is, March, and things have changed! I started out the year gaining, gaining, gaining.....but I'm happy to say that I've got it under control! I ballooned up to 211 at one point, but I'm back down to 206 now! Jamen has been working out in the mornings, so that gives me the strength to get up as well! I'm proud to say that I work out every morning for an hour and I can sure feel the difference. It's also taken a while to change my eating habits, but it's getting easier and easier. For example, I eat a lot more fruits and vegies, and I find myself actually craving salad! How weird is that! Yeah, I still have my cravings for chocolate and sweet things, but who doesn't. In fact, right now, I'm craving, Cold Stone! I think we might take the family and visit this ice cream palace tonight! I've found that if I don't give in to my cravings, then it just gets worse and I end up eating a lot more to compensate for that ache! My philosophy, just eat what you crave, and get back on track! Sure there's a line to be drawn, and since I haven't eaten any bad sweets this week, I think I deserve it! Besides it's fun to eat ice cream with my family! My goal right now is to get down to 200! I know I can do it.....

I've hit a wall!!!
Hi to all you who actually read this! Weight Watchers didn't really work out for me, and I hate to say that because now it looks like I am a quitter! I'm not! I'm still working at my weight, just doing it in a different way! I still have goals, right now my goal is to be down to 200 pounds flat by Thanksgiving! But, going to meetings and paying someone to weigh me just wasn't my thing! It's funny, ever since I quit going, I've been so much more happy, something about counting calories and being restricted that just didn't sit well with me! Don't think of me as a quitter, think of me as a money pincher!

October 5, 2008
I missed last week's weight watchers meeting because of sick kids, so I've been struggling lately. I haven't gained any weight, but I haven't lost any either. I keep reminding myself that this is a lifestyle change and not a quick diet! I'm happy if I go down even ounces every couple of days because that means I'm still going down. I weigh myself every morning and that helps a lot to let me know where I stand at the beginning of the day.

On my Way!!!!
Weight Watchers has been a good thing for me so far!!! I love going to the meetings and getting the support I need! I kind of chose the wrong time to start because 2 days later I went on vacation for a week, but (pat on the back), I still lost 2 pounds! I love being able to choose what I want to eat and not be restricted from anything. I'm still trudging along~I have my tough times and I have my easy times, but who doesn't?

WEIGHT WATCHERS WATCH OUT!
Well, after 3 years of going it on my own, I've decided to join Weight Watchers! I joined yesterday and I'm very optimistic that this is just the thing I need. I'm excited to get the moral support I need by going to meetings and meeting other women who are struggling to shed the pounds just like me. I started counting points this morning and I'm loving it. I love the freedom to choose what I want to eat instead of having to eat weird food that other diets have. My goal for my family is to make smart and healthy snack choices instead of the sugary snacks. I am very excited to take care of my body!
